Cake Stand

Most of us have seen wood turned plates and platters! They are lovely to use either daily or for special occasions. I know my wife loves putting out snacks for our visitors on wood turned plates.

We've also put out birthday cakes and pies on some of my wood platters. But how do you make that special birthday cake stand out?? The answer is that you raise the platter onto a stand so that it stands proud of the table. By turning a "raised platter turning", you are making a cake or pie stand.
