Calls

Every hunter knows that finding game is the hard part of hunting. There are 2 schools of thought here. First is that you walk all over to find the game. The second is that you "call" the game to you!

There are call mechanisms that you can install in your turnings for turkey, duck and even crow. I bet that you can even find more!

So if you're a turner and you fall into the second train of thought, then turning wood calls is for you!!

		Turning a Crow Call by Alex Williams
In this photo tuturial, Alex Williams, a professional call maker shows how he makes his famous crow calls. These spindle turnings are easy to mount on the lathe and have a couple of critical measurements in order to fit the call inserts. Alex covered those points extremely well insuring tht you'll be successful with this project. In addition, Alex covers the fact that the calls can be made not only from wood but from alternative materials. Alex shows the turning with an "Acrylester" blank.
