Coffee GrinderWhen I hear the words, Coffee Grinder, I think of a powered high speed cutter with a plastic case. It's our experiences that lead us to these types of conclusions. But coffee grinders were not always electric.
In the "old" days, coffee was ground by hand. The mechanisms to grind coffee are still available. They just need some type of case to hold them. Here comes the turning!!
Check out if you'd like your own hand powered coffee maker. | Making an Antique Coffee Grinder by David Reed Smith | In this article, David shows how to make those fun antique coffee grinders. Now don't think that this is just for decoration or a toy, this is a real working coffee grinder.
David goes through all the steps in this photo tutorial to build this project. This includes the coffee drawer which is a challenging concept made easy with David's explanation. David also provides all the information needed to make this project including; where to get the grinder, what size woods you need and even a line drawing of the major dimensions. This is one of the most complete projects we've seen! |
