Potpourri Holders Potpourri holders can be almost any shape, but are more commonly a shallow bowl. They have tops which allow the fragrance but not the bits to escape. So, this can be either a 1 or 2 piece project.
You could turn just the bottom vessel and then use a manufactured lid or you can make both pieces. I've seen lids turned then pierced and turned with a lattice effect. Both are very stunning and popular! | | Turning a square potpourri container by Bob Hamilton | In Bob's new photo tutorial, he uses many of the same clever techniques that he used in his round potpourri container. But this time, he leaves the corners to make a square container.
The results of this project are stunning and will have many people thinking, "How did he do that?"... |
 | Turning a round potpourri container by Bob Hamilton | In this wonderful photo tutorial, Bob shows how he makes a laminated potpourri container. It is designed to use a metal lid and many of the wood turning catalogs now sell various types.
In this project, Bob uses close-up photography to ensure that you understand each step along the way. So, this project is suitable for beginners too! |
 | Turning Potpourri Lids by Garry Bowes | | In this photo tutorial, Garry shows us how he make lattice lids. He uses a custom cutting jig to cut the inside of these domed lids. |
