Spinning Wheels You can make yarn several different ways; spin it by hand (with a whorl) or spin it by machine. A home machine that has been around for a long time is called a Spinning Wheel.
There are several different varieties of spinning wheels. Most people often learn on one type and stick with it. If you'd like to my your own spinning wheel or make one for someone that you know, you can use the plans that we have found. It may take a little work to put together all the parts that you need but it would be a very satisfying project. | | Spinning Wheel by Tim Hornshaw | | In this project, Tim shows us the main assemblies in the spinning wheel that he built for his wife. There are no project plans or dimensions in this project but with a little work, you might be able to arrive at them. The end result of this project is incredibly beautiful and anyone that got one of these would be very happy! |
 | | Making Dreams Come True; Building a Little Great Wheel by Margaret Heathman | | In this photo tutorial, all the steps in making a spinning wheel are covered. There are no formal plans or drawings except the pictures so you might have to take time to lay it out first before you dive into this project. But it does look quite comprehensive and a project that you will be proud of!! |
