John Lucas has about five lathe turned clocks on an forum which I won't mention in case I might break some forum rule here by mentioning the name. BTW his turnings are splendidly turned. Mitch

Yes, John Lucas is a good friend and a great turner. He often posts his pictures on the AAW site, one site that we all monitor regularly. John also posts on other forums if you route around...

Here is the link to John's AAW page:

Thanks for posting the link showing the clocks John Lucas turned. I didn't know if I could do that and it would be a shame if turners that were interested couldn't get a chance to see John's work Personally, I don't care for the style of the clocks themselves, but the craftsmanship that went into his turning of the clocks is, for lack of a better word, impecable as always. So Clockman , there you are buddy, can we see some of your work with clocks? I for one am interested in seeing some. Mitch

Mitch and Dennis I am a member at the AAW site and have discussed in detail John's clocks and also with others about the use of segments like that and will they eventually crack and some say yes and some say no so the jury is out on them. I have as of yet turned any clocks and was looking for ideas. I have a few ideas and have recently gotten my inserts so in the near future I will be sure to post them when I get finished. Anyone else want to show off their lathe turned clocks we will be happy to see them. Thanks.
