I have been given four pieces of African Greenheart (Cylicodiscus Gabuensis) about 3 inches thick and cut into very rough discs, so will be used for bowls. The wood is very dense and I suspect will take the edge off tools very quickly.
Has anyone any experience of turning this wood? Does it turn easily? How does it finish and what finish works best? Any tips would be welcome. |

Sharpen frequently & keep your tools sharp to get good finish cuts off the tool & avoid the dust.
