Many people have asked how to get their pictures displayed on the forum. Here is a set of instructions on how to do this. Good luck,
Dennis
1) First, your picture must be stored somewhere on the Internet. You will need the web address of the picture which can be gotten by right clicking on the picture and selecting "properties". Highlight the location (URL) of the picture and copy it.
If you need to put your photo onto the internet but don't have a place, you can do a google search for "free photo hosting" and you will get a long list. Maybe some of our members will share the ones that they prefer.
2) Go to the Woodturning Online forum and create a new thread or a new message
3) Insert any text that you want before your picture
4) When you get to the spot that you want your picture, type the following bbcode; [img]
5) Then paste your URL into this spot
6) And then close the bbcode command by typing [/img]
7) Finish typing the rest of your message and then the submit button at the bottom of the message.

Sample photo insert command:
The bbcode for inserting a photo into the forum has a strict format that must be followed to work. It is:
Open image command, URL of photo, and then close image command, here is one sample:

Extra Notes -
* One thing to point out on this command is the first and last characters are called "square brackets", they are the keys just to the right of the "P" key on the keyboard (in lower case).
** An alternative to typing in the bbcode is to use the command line buttons above the message that you are creating. You will see a IMG button. If you press this once, you will get the opening command, [img] and then you can insert your URL. To close the command, just press the "close tags" text just below the buttons on the right hand side of the page, and a [/img] will be automatically inserted.
*** If you press the IMG button, it will always insert the command at the bottom of the text, no matter where your cursor is located. I think that this is silly but that's the way it works. It happens to me a lot and it's almost never what I want. So, if it happens to you, you will know that its just the way that it works.
