Welcome to Woodturning Online!
Woodturning Online is a comprehensive web site dedicated to providing
information and resources to wood turners worldwide.
Woodturning Online was created and is maintained by enthusiastic
wood turners. We are dedicated to bringing you quality and valuable
wood turning information by continually working to add to and update
the information on our web site.
What is Woodturning Online?
Woodturning Online contains significant information on woodturning.
In order to organize this information in a way that makes it valuable
to you, we have broken the web site into 4 major sections; Turning,
Turning Vendors, Community, More...
The Turning section contains information that is focused
upon the actual activity of turning. This section includes ways
to build skills, make specific turned items, and ways to learn more
about turning.
The Turning Vendors section contains information on the
vendors that make products useful in turning. This covers everything
from equipment, accessories, supplies and materials. In addition,
we have a section on Galleries that sell turning items. This includes
art galleries, gift shops and craft stores.
The Community section provides information on ways that
turners can meet and can participate with other turners. The first
way for you to meet other turners is through turning associations
and local clubs. Also, many organizations create events which allow
turners to gather, we list these events in the Calendar
of Events section.
Our Forum
section enables people with knowledge and personal experiences to
meet and talk to people looking of information, alternatives and
with questions. This interactive section of the web site enables
you to independently get timely information on turning.
The More... section contains links to enable you to contribute
new information to us and to notify us when one of our links is
not longer working. Also details about Woodturning Online and standard
web site information are located in this area.
How do I participate?
The most direct way to participate is to join the Forums.
The Forums currently contain sections for Turning, Equipment and
Finishing. In the Forums, you can ask questions or share your experiences
with other turners.
In addition, you
can join our mailing list. We will be sending out short monthly
email newsletters telling you about new items, updates to the web
site and other information of interest to turners.
How can I help?
The easiest way for you to help us is in both adding new information
to the web site and in maintaining existing information. To make
it easy, we have created forms for each section which enable you
to submit this information. The Contribute
Content page is the listing of all the forms for each area of
the Woodturning Online web site
Report Broken

active. By submitting this information, we can quickly determine
if the information has been moved to a new location or if it has
been removed from the web. We respond very quickly to these reports
as they are key to the quality of our information.
If you would like to write articles for use on Woodturning Online,
we would be happy to review the concepts or the materials with you.
