Use of your personal information
We will ask you when we need information that personally identifies you (personal information) or allows us to contact you. Generally this information is requested when you create a new user profile on the site to use specific features available only to registered users. The primary reason we obtain this information is to make the site easier for you to use by not having you enter information more than once. We may also periodically use your information to alert you to updated information and other new services from Woodturning Online.
If you choose not to register or provide personal information, you can still use most of Woodturning Online. But you will not be able to access areas or use features that require registration.
We do not share information acquired on Woodturning Online with any external parties.
The only exceptions to this policy are those cases where you choose to make certain information publicly available. Examples of this include:
If you fill out a member's web sites directory listing, anything you include on these forms could be published on Woodturning Online. We do not do anything else with the information. Since the listing is a link to your web site, anything you put on your web site will be visible to visitors.
All information in the Polls is anonymous. We do not match responses with IP addresses or make any other attempt to determine the identity of the responses.
We publish the name and email address of the reviewer unless anonymity is requested. Since the purpose of product reviews is to create credible, personal options about products and services, anonymous reviews may or may not be published.
Submissions, suggestions, comments, articles, photos, and other items which are sent in are occasionally published with the name and email address of the author. If you wish to remain anonymous in any email submission, please tell us. We do not, under any circumstances, sell, trade, or give away email addresses or any other personal information gathered from Woodturning Online.
Registered User Profiles
When you register with us, your information is protected by use of a password which you select. Each person who registers must have a unique email address. Duplicate profiles using the same email address are not permitted. We highly recommend that you select a password which is neither common or known to others. We encourage you to NOT use information such as your Social Security Number, Phone Number or Date of Birth as your password.
If you are a previous registered user and you have lost or forgotten your password, you may reset it using our "I forgot my password" feature. Click the link on any login page to request a new password. The new password will be emailed to you immediately. Use this new password to login into the web site and to modify your profile. We cannot provide your password by any other means. You can now change your password to something more desirable to you.
We provide you with the means to ensure that your personal information is correct and current. You may review and update this information at any time. After logging in, follow the "My Profile" link provided on the top navigation bar of the Forum. You may view and edit personal information you have already given us.
Newsletter Subscriber List
You may also elect to receive or discontinue receiving any email newsletters we may choose to distribute periodically. The subscribe function is contained on the Woodturning Online home page. You can unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link that is included at the bottom of every newsletter.
Some of our pages include ads delivered by Google, always clearly marked with the "Powered By Google" logo. Google is aware that we are a woodturning site, and attempts to select ads that are relevant in some way to woodturning. More recently, we have learned that Google has launched an initiative to improve the relevance of these ads. This is a Google initiative across their entire content network. We want to make clear that we do not share any visitor personal information we may have with Google. Google allows everyone to check on the information they gather, and to opt out. For more information, go to http://www.google.com/privacy_ads.html.

We update our home page about monthly to feature a new project, a new article, and a new and hot tool. Then we create a newsletter to alert our subscribers.
We never let anyone use our list, and our subscribers have been wonderfully loyal as a result.
We hope you will try it out!
