A Woodturning Tip To Eliminate Wobble
By: As Wood Turns
November 03, 2017 · 3,684 views

http://www.AsWoodTurns.com For this project video, I had planned an inside out ornament - a really special one. To my dismay, it broke. Due to the imminent deadline, I switched to a walnut tea light with flashing LED. As I first mounted the wood to my lathe, I put things together about how I was mounting compared to another demonstration I saw recently. So I decided to give a great tip on why I mount many wood blocks to the lathe as I do. (Details inside. :) ) My walnut tea light is about five inches in diameter and about three inches high, finished with lacquer. It holds a battery operated flashing tealight for fire safety. Enjoy! Welcome to my channel, I started woodworking with my grandfather as a young boy. I continued woodworking through high school, and started woodturning after seeing a turned project in a friends shop. Shortly after YouTube started, I was looking for a howto video for duck calls, with no results I decided to make my own video. Some of my fondest memories are working with my grandfather in his wood shop. Being able to share our passion for woodworking, ties it all together.

Maximize the most out of your logs. After turning a piece from an old log I had picked up that seems to be Rosewood I back tracked my steps to see if I could find more of the same wood. I show the process I use to cut it into blanks to get the most out of my logs. I chain saw them to manageable sizes and cut them up into blanks on my band saw.

Woodturning- Gadgets Gizmos and Gimmicks 5 of 5

I DID NOT PRODUCE THIS VIDEO!!! The original video was produced by the Denton Woodturners and is at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v kmrn47Oi-s0 The audio on the original video is horrible - low (virtually inaudible) volume, lots of clothing rubs on the mic, etc. I edited the audio to remove the pops and boosted the volume so it's listenable for my own use. It's still not perfect, but I figured I'd share as the video has some excellent tips in it. This is part 5 of 5.
