Record Power DML250 Drive Belt Replacement
By: MG Makes
July 13, 2019 · 686 views

Welcome Back, Well i have finally pushed this little DML250 to its limits, whilst starting to turn a rather large piece of sycamore, I heard and felt a change in the way the lathe was behaving!!!! Upon inspection I found out that the drive belt had worn and split, causing slipping and reduced tension, resulting in a poor cut. So, as opposed to a turning video. I give you a “Record Power DML250 Drive Belt Replacement” video (Side note - I will be finishing the “turn” but in a couple of weeks - Stay Tuned) I have recently joined Pateron - so if you would like to help fund future videos then

Woodturning: Bearing Replacement & Lathe Maintenance
By: Wolf Ridge Woodworking
July 05, 2019 · 520 views

Recently, it was brought to my attention by a fellow woodturner that it sounded like my bearings were bad. He has the same lathe as mine and had recently replaced his. This was my first time doing this so it was a huge learning experience. While I had the lathe apart, I figured it was time to do some much needed maintenance. I've also included a couple of links to videos made by Mike Waldt. Mike goes into much greater detail. Please go check out his videos to go deeper. April 28, 2019 · 2,173 views

This is a 1 month old BRAND NEW Grizzly 0766 Lathe. The spindle is defective. Grizzly sent PARTS for ME to replace............So..... Before I could get the head stock replaced, I had to attempt to replace the spindle and bearings 1st.... Well, As you can see that was a waste of time. Watch my 'New Laguna Lathe' Video to see how that all worked out... or I should say, didn't work out. If nothing else this video was slightly funny, for me, after it was all over with. Hope you can take something useful from this. Hopefully avoid this situation all together. Thanks you for watching! God Bless!

Laguna Revo 1836 Wood Lathe Spindle Lock FIX
By: ThePapa1947
December 26, 2018 · 1,496 views

This is a short video as a Christmas gift for any new lathe owners. I will be posting a wood turning video this Friday. This is for other lathe owners for that may have the same issue. It is a simple fix and you will be glad you did it. I got tired of not having a way of holding the spindle lock in while trying put a bowl blank on or getting a chuck off. So I came up with this solution. It works great for me and I think it would for anyone. Plus it takes no drilling and tapping of your lathe head. This is not a real review but I feel the Laguna is a great lathe for the price. And with working with Laguna with some other small issues they have been great. I give them top rating on that.

Err... not so quick guys - sorry. In this video I'm taking care of the lathe dials. They are extremely hard to visualize and use - I'm using a trick by painting the dials lines with acrylic paint. This is a well worth project even though it's a time consuming one... Painting the lathe dials allows me to visualize more easily the location of the dials. Hope you enjoy Saar

#39 How to Repair a Broken Lathe With Duct Tape - Level: Wood Wizard
By: Austringer Creations
September 22, 2017 · 450 views

I got a catch while turning a 12' poplar bowl on my HF wood lathe and the head broke completely off the bed. How does a humble wood butcher with limited funds make repairs?... DUCT TAPE of course!!!! Actually, the repair was quite simple, the clamping system for the rotating lathe head uses a small rolled pin in a high-stress location and the catch cause the pin to shear in half allowing the clamp to open up and the head departed the bed. I just replaced it with a 4mm stainless steel screw and reassembled the lathe. Gooder 'n new!

Cleaning My Jet 1642 Lathe Ways with a Rust Remover
By: Turning Round
May 12, 2014 · 11,295 views

In this video I use some Naval Jelly to clean and restore the ways on my Jet 1642 Lathe. I am trying the product for the first time and I have heard great reviews. I was expecting a crystal clear shinny finish rust free, what I ended up with was a dull streaked rust free surface. I guess it did the job but I may need to try this again for a super clean finish.
