Beech Pyrography Bowl - Episode 155
By: Paul Lockwood
November 13, 2018 · 832 views

What was supposed to be a nice Beech blank. This turned out to have a few cracks in that spoilt the finished item. The plan right from the start was to create some form of pyrography celtic pattern on an inlaid rim. Finished this by sanding to 240 grit, sanding sealer, Yorkshire Grit, Woodwax22 Microcrystaline Wax. Woodturning - a bit of pyro for some Wiccan friends
By: Blind Woodturner
March 11, 2018 · 450 views

After receiving a call from a practicing white witch I was asked to turn a bowl for their altar offerings. They asked if we could include some pyrography symbols to make it even more special. *** Join me, Chris Fisher, the Blind Wood Turner, in my workshop. I started out in life as a regular guy, working in auto body repair at BMW, until one day, completely out of the blue, a rare virus (Toxoplasmosis) reared its ugly head and caused me to lose my sight in a matter of weeks. Despite the challenges of coming to terms with losing my sight, I refused to give up and, after four years I decided

Buttermere Pyrography Display Piece - Episode 111
By: Paul Lockwood
February 03, 2018 · 330 views

I had originally deiced to do a set of coasters. Due to some issues I then looked for something a bit more topical from a local point of interest. Living in Cumbria, I'm not far from the Lake District, where this is somewhere that I've been to several times and taken relatives on a walk. Oak is certainly not the best wood to do pyrography on, which this piece proves it. In the end it turned out quite well. Sanded to 400 and made as smooth as possible before the pyrography, then finished with Yacht varnish spray. Needed to see what this finish was like. Finally buffed up on the buffing wheel to make it all smooth and quite shiny. Wood Burning Philly - Pyrography
By: R Humphrey
September 18, 2017 · 1,851 views

Using wood burning or pyrography to make a portrait of a beloved dog named “Philly.” Philly was a friend and companion to “B” for 17 years, and will never be forgotten. This portrait is a gift for B from Jim and Jamie. I used the Detail Master IV Sabre pyrography system for this project. The writing nib was used for the vast majority of the work, along with the spoon shading nib for some. This video is at 10x speed. Pyrography Talk - Episode 96
By: Paul Lockwood
September 09, 2017 · 2,651 views

This is all about my limited thoughts on Pyrography. If you want to get into Pyrography or fairly new to it like me then this may be of use to you on some of my thoughts and the way I do things. For those more experienced, the valued feedback can be good for all of us. I cover some basic things, like what you may need to look for when buying a Pyrography Machine, getting the image onto the work and basic use of the tools that I have. Peter Child Pyrography Machine - Episode 55
By: Paul Lockwood
February 01, 2017 · 7,952 views

Right from taking the Peter Child Pyrography Machine out of the box to the first use. After reading several reviews and taking advice from others on Woodchuckers, I decided on this machine. It is very easy and comfortable to use, where the pen sits in the hand just like using a wide pen or pencil. I found that it is best to start with as low heat as possible as you have less control over the burning when the heat is high. A great little piece of kit that will get a lot of use in later projects. Please Subscribe http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCJmcpalJi_xzP_iV3uXJj2w?sub_confirmation 1

Wood Turning - Adding Pyrography and Water Colour to a Bowl
By: M. Saban Smith Woodturning
March 22, 2016 · 9,393 views

This week, I turn my attention back to pyrography with a pen rather than a propane torch in the production of 'Sycamore Pentagram'; An 11' sycamore dish/bowl with a stippled rim and a five leaf motif in the centre, all burnt on and then coloured with watercolour pencils. The video is pretty in depth and deals mainly with the pyrography. If you don't wish to see the turning process, skip to 9m:30s for the start of the pyrography. Molly Winton Demonstrates Wood Burn Basket Weave Brand

http://www.AsWoodTurns.com For this video, I have a special guest, Molly Winton. I recently attended one of her workshops where she taught pyrography or woodburning. She was a great teacher and gave me the bug -- I have to incorporate wood burning into some of my projects. In this video, Molly demonstrates making her basket weave tip and how to best use it. She uses 20 gage wire (sometimes 22 gage). She uses a hex drill bit as a mandrel that is cut off where the flutes begin. A vise grip holds nichrome wire to the hex part of the mandrel. She wraps the wire five times, removes it from the man

Pyrography for Lid Of My Segmented Utility Bowl
By: As Wood Turns
October 23, 2015 · 5,366 views

http://www.AsWoodTurns.com This builds on my last video to make a lid for my bowl. It went well except for the home-made plywood I used in the lid. I had expected it to blend well to make the lid. While it sanded well, and had a smooth surface, it did not look right at the size it was and for the more visible top of the vessel. Last year, I took a workshop from Graeme Priddle. More recently, I took another from Molly Winton. Both used pyrography or woodburning to enhance vessels. I decided to enhance the look of the lid by burning a pattern over the plywood area. To burn, I used three burning

Woodturning an Olive Ash Platter with Celtic Pyrography

This week, I make a slight return to scorching wood after receiving news from subscriber, Baconsoda (http://www.youtube.com/user/baconsoda) that his interpretation of my Rune Inspired sapele dish from back in November came second in his local turning clubs competition. Update 6 May: Brendan has just posted this video of his bowl: https://youtu.be/70-yHADznyY. Do check it out...it is very good indeed! And, having fairly recently taken up pyrography, I decided to make a new platter...this time 14.5' in diameter incorporating both my scorching technique and new skill of pyrographing my own Celtic
