Garden Dibble-Part 1

Dibble? Yep, it’s a tool for creating a hole to place flower bulbs, but Tim’s version is nice and long to avoid bending over all the time. Because of that length, it’s a great chance to talk about steadying a long, thin turning...to keep it safe and manageable. Part 1 of 2. You can find instructional DVDs, Tim’s Tools and the Elbo Hollowing Tool on the Woodturning with Tim website: http://www.woodturningwithtim.com Robust Lathes: http://www.turnrobust.com/ I am a Robust dealer (which adds nothing to your costs) and I am more than happy to help you pick out and configure your new lathe. Thompson Lathe Tools: http://thompsonlathetools.com/ These are the finest, long lasting turning tools on the market. I have used them since our first shows on PBS.

Woodturning a gardening dibber
By: Andrew Stevens
April 24, 2018 · 75 views

My method for turning a dibber, this one is made from oak and about 7 inches long. After I stopped filming I cut off the waste and cleaned up the ends with a chisel and some hand sanding. It will be finished with danish oil. If you would like to buy one of these dibbers from me I currently have 1 left in my etsy shop www.etsy.com/shop/aswoodcrafts and a few slightly bigger ones in my folksy shop www.folksy.com/shops/aswoodcrafts I am also on Facebook and Instagram @andrewstevenswoodturner This video is just showing how I turn and is not instructional. You are responsible for your own safety while turning.

Let's make an easy woodturning project suitable for a beginner. In this episode, I look at turning a Gardener's Dibber, which was the very first turning I every attempted. In this early part of the series, I use nothing but the standard set of tools used by countless beginners around the world. Below are some links you may find useful. This video is about Garden Dibble. I go to my lathe for this project. I enjoy lathe work and it doesn't seem like I get enough. A quick easy project. Great for beginning turners and great to have for use in the garden. #23 The Dibble II... The Vampire Slayer
By: The Tiny Trailer Workshop
October 31, 2013 · 313 views

This quick and easy project will protect you from the vampires who roam the streets tonight! Updated version... now punctures more easily... Happy Halloween! This is a more useful version of the tool (for planting bulbs)I showed last week. More useful in a couple of areas... one it is sharper and therefore able to work in harder ground... and two,,,it is made from Hemlock which is a much more dense wood. Interesting to note here... the parting of the piece was made much easier by drilling a 3/8' hole in either end... one for the worm screw and one for the live center... and where I parted the piece was at the very end of the hole! Thanks for watching Larry

The Dibble is a tool used for planting bulbs in your garden. This one is Alder and would only be good for cultivated gardens as it is a rather blunt instrument. I would imagine that there will be a follow-up to this in the coming weeks! Thanks for watching Larry And if you haven't already ... don't forget to subscribe!

Dust Right® Dust Separator

On Sale for only $59.99

Save $40.00

List Price: $99.99

Turn any shop vacuum with a 2-1/4'' ID outlet into a 2-stage dust and chip separator. When used with most power tools and shop vacuums, the Dust Right® Separator captures sawdust, wood chips, and other debris before it enters your vacuum, preventing the loss of suction power caused by a clogged vacuum filter. The five-caster base makes it exceptionally stable and easy to maneuver around the shop. Plus, hoses connect inside the in/out ports, preventing unintentional disconnections. The Dust Right® Separator creates a cyclonic air flow that causes most wood dust particles and other materials that are heavier than air to separate, preventing them from being passed to the vacuum. The vortex effect that is created prevents the loss of suction caused by prematurely clogged filters

Micro Dust Air Filtration System

On Sale for only $599.99

Save $100.00

List Price: $699.99

The PM1250 Air Filtration System employs an electrostatic filter that attracts and removes particles as small as 0.1 micron in size. It cycles the air in a 680 square foot space—the equivalent of an oversized 2-car garage—up to five times in a single hour. When set at the lowest setting, the system is about as quiet as a library, and when on high, it's quieter than normal conversation. Unlike most other air filtration systems, the PM1250 is portable and freestanding, meaning you can carry it to wherever filtration is most needed, then simply set it on the floor or the bench. The angle is adjustable using the knobs on the side of the unit. If you like, it can also be mounted to the wall or ceiling.
