Woodturning Ring Holder - A Perfect Wedding Gift
By: As Wood Turns
July 27, 2018 · 1,773 views

http://www.AsWoodTurns.com My nephew is getting married. What better wedding gift than a beautiful place to put wedding rings? They'll always know where they are when not on a finger. However, I suspect my nephew's wife with have most use for the ring holder. As a woodturning project, this has two components: a small bowl and a simple spindle. The bowl has a hump in the center for two purposes: First to allow jewelry to not accumulate in one pile in the center. Instead loose jewelry distributes in a ring near the rim. Second, to have a little more wall thickness to support the center spindle

Turning a Ring Bowl
By: Fatso's Workshop
November 07, 2017 · 274 views

I've had this small bowl blank of Silver Silkwood sitting around for a couple of years now so I thought I'd try to turn up something a little different. I've been playing with the idea of turning a small bowl to keep rings and jewellery in. I'm putting a few bowls together for the upcoming market so I thought it would be a good enough reason to try to turn this up. Music: Airuma by Sul Rebel is licensed under a Attribution License. Quick And Easy Ring And Jewelry Holder
By: As Wood Turns
September 22, 2017 · 2,059 views

http://www.AsWoodTurns.com This project is fairly quick and easy yet functional and beautiful. While simple, it has potential for many variations. Essentially, it is a bowl with a spindle - the best of both worlds. The bowl is small and shallow with the center left in place. The spindle resembles a flame. A ring or rings can be placed on the tip of the flame. The bowl portion is 4x4x1. The flame starts with 1x1x6. Mine are finished with lacquer. To make this ring holder, first turn the shallow bowl using the usual bowl turning techniques. The difference is to leave the center. This means th

Ring Holder - Episode 23
By: Paul Lockwood
August 24, 2016 · 333 views

My daughters 13th birthday is soon upon me and I decided to create a ring holder for her as a surpise. The whole item was made from the same pallet wood as the last project of the bird house. The finish was two coats of Sanding Sealer and Carnauba Wax. Lidded Ring Box
By: Maple-Crossing Woodworks
August 14, 2016 · 4,043 views

Here's a video of the making of a lidded ring box. This was a large block of spalted maple that I had in my wood bin for a year or so, saving it for a special occasion. When my wife asked about making a ring box, I couldn't think of how much more special an occasion could get. Sadly, as I started cutting into the wood, I discovered it could really have used a trip through the stabilizer before putting on the lathe... I guess we'll call this a prototype. I hope you enjoy!

How to Turn a Ring Bowl on a Wood Lathe
By: Mike Peace Woodturning
February 04, 2016 · 6,392 views

I demonstrate how to woodturn a ring bowl on the lathe. This little woodturned bowl is a perfect small gift as it provides a special place for your favorite lady to put her rings or earrings in before going to bed. This is a great way for a beginner to get started turning their first bowl (or Nth bowl!). This project only requires a small piece of wood from a branch. You will still go through all of the bowl making steps but on a smaller scale. For this project, I will demonstrate how to do this with a shopmade screw chuck in case you do not have a scroll chuck. I upload a new woodturning tip every Wednesday and a woodturning tutorial video each and every Friday so Ya’ll come back, hear? Filmed and uploaded in HD Check out my blog for demonstration handouts, downloadable copies of articles I have published, and links to some full length demonstrations I have done at Gwinnett Woodworkers channel. Woodturning Skew Practice - A Wedding Ring Holder
By: As Wood Turns
July 31, 2014 · 3,992 views

http://www.AsWoodTurns.com Mastering the skew takes continuous practice to develop and maintain skills. Alan Lacer recommends turning an egg. To this, I'll add this ring holder for woodturning skew practice. In addition to convex turning from the egg, I need to practice concave turning with this wedding ring holder. It's a simple spindle project and only takes a few minutes to turn out a beautiful project from scrap wood. I gauge my success by how many spiral catches I experience and how smooth the concave curve it. Give it a go. A little skew practice goes a long way. Enter your email at http://www.AsWoodTurns.com & I'll let you know when the next easy woodturning project video is ready. Blog: http://www.AsWoodTurns.com FB: http://www.Facebook.com/AsWoodTurns
