Lace bobbins are used to hand make lace fabric. Things like lovely lace dollies are made using the lace bobbins. These tiny spindle turnings hold the thread as the fabric is made. Each person needs several dozen of these and sometimes uses all of them for one project.
If you're going to learn how to make bobbins, it's always best to go to someone that knows that they're doing. Mike has done over 16000 bobbins so I'd consider him an expert. In this project he shows the basic steps to making a bobbin.
